add path_inset to balance sequences

@karnem this is a MR just to fix this problem fast in the master instead of waiting for the other big MR for FastCCD correction

Is the function itself works correctly? Why don't use default function from calibrate.py?

As discussed offline fixing the balance sequences function would be for a late MR.
